MicroSim

The innovative MicroSim system consists of multiple separate system simulations that can be used for focused system training, or slotted together as "building blocks" to provide interactive training on ship-wide issues such as a a major power outage. Each simulation replicates the modeled system along with specific components to enable training of students in general system configuration for various operation modes and trouble shooting and fault-finding capabilities. As the student operates valves, pumps and controls the main system components, the AppriPhysics engine calculates pipe flows, pressures and temperatures throughout the system.

For lessons or self-directed training, Appri can provide a student with on-screen guidance through an exercise, which supplies an assessment of their performance. The student is presented with a procedural task, like starting or stopping a boiler or a trouble-shooting situation where they have to respond to an alarm or failure. They are given the steps to perform, more specific guidance if necessary and a final assessment of how they did.
